I was hired by 96.5 the Mountain in 1997, and have loved every day I have worked here - except days when I have to see, smell or otherwise come in contact with Brad Steiner.   I started in radio in Cookeville, Tennessee at age 18 - working for the station I listened to as a kid.   It was thrilling, and all these years later I still believe this can be the most entertaining business in which to work.

Ringgold, Georgia has been my home for the last eight years.

I am the I.T. tech geek for our company, and I think Mac computers and Blackberry devices were designed by the devil to destroy our lives.

Perhaps the least pop culture aware of our staff because I watch almost no television.   In the last year my TV watching has hit the skids.   I found things called (gasp) friends, and figured out there is much more to life than sitting in front of a box.   But that is what everybody does, so it seems, so I am left behind on fascinating time killers like Big Brother.   I do watch the mandatory stuff like American Idol, but that's about it.

And I am really lying about not watching TV, because I traded television for Facebook.   I just watch a different screen now.  I am a total FB addict.

I earn $100,000 per episode of the Total Request Workday.

Jason: Saving you from goats

Aug 31, 2010 -- 11:53am

With the tragic story from Colbert, Alabama involving an 88 year old man and a vicious goat, I want to make you aware of the Childhood Goat Trauma Foundation.   You can find them online at:

http://www.goat-trauma.org

I have taken the liberty of recording some of their materials as poignant, useful and somewhat dramatic Public Service Announcements.  Listen to them here:

Idol: Less talent, More terror!

Aug 29, 2010 -- 7:31am

While Americans were treated to "Pants on the Ground" in the search to find some real talent (which we got with Kris Allen and Adam Lambert), Canadian Idol fans were treated to a terrorist bombing suspect.  Nice!

Getting married destroys your sex life?

Aug 26, 2010 -- 11:50am

Found this relationship story today.   What do you think?

--A new survey out of England finds that getting married SLASHES the amount of sexual relations you have by a ridiculous 75%.

--In the survey, the average unmarried couple reported having sex four times a week.  Within three years of getting married, that number drops to once a week.

--And for married couples, 80% say that when they do have sex, it's at the same time, in the same place and with the same positions pretty much every time.

--59% of people also say that marriage has COMPLETELY RUINED the excitement of having sex.

--Just under half of people said their relationship with their husband or wife is more like FRIENDS than LOVERS.

--One-third of people say they're not as attracted to their husband and wife as they used to be . . . and 43% say their spouses have, quote, "let themselves go."

--And one final note, in case this wasn't enough of a downer already.  14% of people surveyed said they've had an affair . . . and two-thirds of those people say the sex was MIND-BLOWING compared to what they're having back at home.

A big glass of camel milk. Yum!

Aug 23, 2010 -- 2:32pm

My humps, my humps...

Some cultures find cows' milk intolerable, and I'm not sure why I'm so turned off on the concept of milk from any other animal.  It's milk.  It's animal milk.  But we've been indoctrinated to drink cow milk from the time we were wee tots, so most of us don't have an aversion to ordinary cattle dairy products.

Camel?

I've consumed my share of cow milk, and more goat milk than most (we had goats when I was a kid).

Camel?  No... not for me.

Jason's perfect booty... hahaha

Aug 17, 2010 -- 11:22am

Here's how you do it.  There's a witch on eBay who claims, for $8.95, to offer a "spell" which can transform your body.  I'm a total believer.

Make sure to thank me later.
